Some embodiments of the invention relate to a targeting device for providing a substitution target of natural shape for the individual-point measurement of surface points with an electro-optical measuring apparatus. In some embodiments, the targeting device may include a carrier plate having at least one insertion seat, and a target panel. In some embodiments, the target panel is insertable into the insertion seat of the carrier plate.
