The method involves reading in a signal, producing signal data as function of a physical parameter, and outputting the data over an interface (25) for an external analysis. External reduction parameters are read, when the analysis is accomplished, and internal reduction parameters are read, when the analysis is not accomplished. Reduction steps are accomplished based on the parameters. An evaluation of reduced signals is performed and the evaluation result is read. The reduced signal is forwarded for accomplishing further reduction steps with changed reduction parameters. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a digital memory medium with electronically readable control signals for the analysis of a digitally modulated signal (2) a computer program with program code for the analysis of a digitally modulated signal (3) a computer program product with program code for the analysis of a digitally modulated signal. |
