Provided is a reception apparatus, including: a reception unit that receives a broadcast wave of digital broadcasting using an IP (Internet Protocol) transmission system; and a filtering processing unit that performs filtering processing on a packet by using filtering information, the filtering information being provided in a header of the packet, the packet being transmitted in a baseband stream in a first layer via the broadcast wave, the first layer being lower than an IP layer in a hierarchy of a protocol of the IP transmission system.
