[Class 44.] In a button-andloop type of suspender the lower end of the wire loop 1 is bent forwards to provide an arch 1a against which the lower portion of the button-head 3 engages, the material of the sock &c. being gripped therebetween at the sides and middle of the arched portion between the shank and the side-members of the loop at opposite sides of the button shank 5. The arch described is of semicircular form, but may be of square or other suitable shape, and the button-head 3, instead of being circular with substantially flat top, as shown, may be of any form other than one with a pointed lower end.
