The invention relates to a method for applying an edge-banding element (B) to a lightweight panel (100, 200), in which there is provided to deposit, in at least one cavity (106, 206) of the intermediate layer (103, 203) an adhesive material in the form of a bead (S), where said bead (S) is positioned against at least one face of a lamellar element (107, 207) of said intermediate layer (103, 203) and at least partially fills said cavity (106, 206), to feed and guide an edge banding element (B) toward the edge portion (105, 205) of the panel (100, 200), and subsequently, to abut said edge banding element (B) with the edge portion (105, 205) of the panel so that an inner face (B') of the edge banding element contacts the bead (S) of adhesive material. The invention also relates to an edge-banding apparatus for implementing the aforesaid method. |
