The present invention generally relates to Titanium dioxide derivatives of formula TiO2-[L]-Ag+, functionalized with silver cations by a bifunctional mercapto alkylsilane ligand. The present derivatives are useful e.g. as antimicrobic, antiseptic and/or antiviral agent, in particular in the form of pharmaceutical compositions for topical use.
