The invention relates to an article comprising a main body having elastic properties, particularly an air spring bellows, a metal-rubber element or a vibration damper. The article has a mono-layer or multi-layer main body, the outer layer C being at least a two-layer C1/C2 structure and each layer consisting of an elastomer mixture. At least one layer D which is made of a woven or warp-knitted or knitted fabric is embedded in said outer layer. This leads to a further improvement in fire-retardant properties.
