Provided is an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of calculating a two dimensional velocity vector of a tissue in real time without sacrificing a frame rate. When images are captured in Doppler mode, at least one Doppler supplementary beam 32 is transmitted and received in a direction differing from a Doppler transmission/reception beam 31, a portion where a structural body such as a blood vessel wall 33 is present is detected, and at the portion where the structural body is present, a motion velocity vector of the structural body at positions of intersections 35, 36 where the beams of the two directions of the Doppler beam and the Doppler supplementary beam intersect is calculated by using information obtained from the Doppler beam and the Doppler supplementary beam, and using this information, a motion velocity vector for the entirety of the structural body is calculated. |
