The invention relates to a floor element for a rail vehicle, formed by: a composite sandwich panel comprising an upper skin, a lower skin and a core; and end cross-members supporting the longitudinal ends of the skins of the panel, said end cross-members comprising flanges that rest on an end structure of the vehicle and forming means for taking-up and distributing connection loads across the width of the floor.
