The present invention realizes capacity saving for an on-premise storage device, high performance when accessing the on-premise storage device, and rapid and accurate restarting of business by using on-cloud data when there is a fault in the on-premise storage device. A processor provides a first volume that is a virtual volume, and sets a copy pair of the first volume and a second volume provided by another storage system. Write data for the first volume is transmitted to the second volume through a network on the basis of the copy pair. The processor records, in a memory, a portion of data to be recorded in the second volume and records the data recorded in the memory in a storage device.
