The invention relates to a transmission belt tensioner (1) comprising at least a roller and a support part (12) through which there passes at least one cavity (11) for accepting a fixing element (4) intended for fixing the tensioner (1) to an assembly (2). The said at least one cavity (11) on the support part (12) is in the form of an open slot opening onto an external edge of the support part (12) and the support part (12) has passing through it at least one housing (6) for the passage of a pin (5) intended to be inserted at least partially into the assembly (2). The present invention also relates to an assembly (2) bearing at least two pulleys surrounded by a transmission belt with at least one such tensioner (1) and to a method for removing a tensioner (1) of such an assembly (2).
