Provided is an appliance use explanation method by a device, said use explanation method making it possible for a user to experience the ease of use of an appliance even when the user does not have the appliance on hand. The appliance use explanation method by device includes: a step in which an operation panel image that is an image of the operation panel of a tape printing appliance provided with an operation panel is displayed by a terminal display; a step in which a touch sensor detects an operation with respect to the operation panel image; and a step in which the detection of the operation with respect to the operation panel image is used as a basis to display a display image and a label image as an operation image that is an image representing the result of the tape printing appliance operating in accordance with the operation with respect to the operation panel.
