1. A separator system for the preparation of a platelet rich plasma, comprising:
a tube; a thixotropic gel disposed in the tube, the thixotropic gel being adapted for separating platelet rich plasma and including a polymer mixture; and an anticoagulant disposed in the tube, the anticoagulant including a buffered sodium citrate solution at 0.1 M; the tube being adapted to be centrifuged for a sufficient length of time to form a barrier with the thixotropic gel between plasma and erythrocytes.
