A double-sided adhesive tape attaching apparatus comprises a driver (10), a workbench (20), and mechanical arms (301, 302) provided over the workbench (20). The mechanical arms (301, 302) are connected to the driver (10), capable of placing a double-sided adhesive tape (40) at a preset position on the workbench (20), tearing off a first protective film (401) of the double-sided adhesive tape (40) at the preset position, pressing at the preset position a printed circuit board on the double-sided adhesive tape (40) with the first protective film (401) torn off, and taking off the printed circuit board attached with the double-sided adhesive tape (40) from the preset position. Fixing mechanisms (201) are provided at the preset position, and are used for fixing an adhesive layer and a second protective film (402) when the mechanical arms (301, 302) are tearing off the first protective film (401), and release the adhesive layer and the second protective film (402) when the double-sided adhesive tape (40) is attached to the printed circuit board. The attaching apparatus can improve attaching efficiency and accuracy. Also disclosed is a method for attaching a double-sided adhesive tape.
