This ablation catheter 200 comprises: a shaft 210; a cooling balloon 260 provided to the shaft 210; a distal thermal insulation balloon 270 which is positioned to the distal side of the cooling balloon 260 and which covers the distal end of the cooling balloon 260 when expanded; and a proximal thermal insulation balloon 280 which is positioned to the proximal side of the cooling balloon 260, and which covers the proximal end of the cooling balloon 260 when expanded.
