An in-wheel motor drive device used in a drive wheel of an electric car or the like comprises: an electric-powered motor (1); a wheel bearing (4) which supports a wheel; and a decelerator (2) which decelerates the rotation of the electric-powered motor (1) and transmits the decelerated rotation to the wheel bearing (4). The electric-powered motor (1) and the decelerator (2) respectively comprise a motor rotation shaft (7) and a decelerator input shaft (5) which are rotatably supported, and these motor rotation shaft (7) and decelerator input shaft (5) are coupled via a torque limiter (3) which interrupts the transmission of torque with an allowable value or more. |
