PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing system of an unused nuclear fuel and a processing method of the unused nuclear fuel capable of reusing the nuclear fuel at low cost after carried out from a nuclear reactor installation by efficiently and safely demolishing and decontaminating an unused nuclear fuel aggregate stored in a used fuel pool of the nuclear reactor installation together with a used nuclear fuel aggregate.SOLUTION: A processing system of an unused nuclear fuel loads an unused nuclear fuel aggregate, and includes a fuel holding rack 301 for supporting an attitude change of the unused nuclear fuel aggregate, and a work bench 500 used for demolishing and decontaminating the unused nuclear fuel aggregate. A processing method of the used nuclear fuel includes: an attitude change step of changing an attitude of the fuel holding rack 301 that loads the unused nuclear fuel aggregate from a perpendicular state to a horizontal state; a demolishing step of pulling out a fuel rod from the unused nuclear fuel aggregate; and a decontamination step of decontaminating a surface of the fuel rod.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 |
