PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric body device, which is capable of, even when a piezoelectric element is placed under a high humidity environment, suppressing occurrence of an ion migration phenomenon from a conductive material without complicating a structure, and to provide a method of using the piezoelectric body device.SOLUTION: The piezoelectric body device includes a piezoelectric element 16 including a piezoelectric body 12 and a pair of electrodes, and utilizes a displacement of the piezoelectric body 12 in a lengthwise direction. The pair of electrodes includes a first surface electrode 30A and a second surface electrode 30B that are provided to contact one surface of the piezoelectric body. The first surface electrode 30A and the second surface electrode 30B oppose each other with a space 32 therebetween and a length L1 of the first surface electrode 30A is shorter than that of the second surface electrode 30B. The first surface electrode 30A and the second surface electrode 30B are mounted to a first terminal 20A and a second terminal 20B of a substrate 18 through a first conductive material 34A and a second conductive material 34B. A high potential is applied to the first terminal 20A and a low potential is applied to the second terminal 20B. |
