PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that has improved performance in position indication operation indicating a specific position of an image displayed on a display surface, a position detection device, and a control method of a display device.SOLUTION: A display device includes a projection unit that displays images on a screen SC, and a position detection unit that detects an indication position 70A of an indication body 70 on the screen SC. The display device sets in advance a display area 6 for detecting the indication position 70A in a displayable area 5 in the screen SC corresponding to the indication body 70, and when the indication position 70A detected by the position detection unit is outside the display area 6 corresponding to the indication body 70, detects the indication position 70A as out-of-area operation. |
