PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system capable of reducing a communication line to be used for authentication in the case of constructing an authentication system.SOLUTION: An authentication system includes: a home gateway 10 having a WAN interface connected to a WAN line; a communication terminal 20 connected via the home gateway 10 to the WAN line; and an authentication terminal 30 connected via a radio LAN to the home gateway 10 for determining the connection propriety of the communication terminal 20 to the home gateway 10. The home gateway 10 is configured to, when receiving a connection request message transmitted from the communication terminal 20, transmit an inquiry message to make an inquiry for the connection propriety of the communication terminal 20 to the authentication terminal 30 connected via the radio LAN, and to, when receiving a reply message transmitted from the authentication terminal 30 in which the permission of the connection of the communication terminal 20 is indicated, permit the connection of the communication terminal 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
