A heat recovery system comprising a plurality of heat storage vessels 14,16,18 is connected to an oven or autoclave 22 by a control feed comprising inlet conduit 12, valved inlet connections 12a,12b,12c, valved outlet connections, 20a,20b,20c and outlet conduit 20. The storage vessels may have sensors, eg for temperature and pressure. One or more of the storage vessels 14 is provided with uplift means, eg a heat pump 24. A CPU 26 may monitor the temperature of fluid in the inlet conduit 12 and the temperatures of the storage vessels 14,16,18 and control the valves and heat pump 24 accordingly. Hot fluid from the oven or autoclave 22 may be directed to different storage vessels according to the temperature of the fluid. Heat may be supplied from the storage system to the oven/autoclave 22 depending on demand. Fluid may be vented from the storage vessels if their pressures become too high. An oven or autoclave having an internal chamber supplied with heated fluid at above ambient temperature from an external heated fluid source is also claimed. |
