PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a widened car by making a box type widened portion extractable to and retractable from a car body thereby to make a structure capable of simply and inexpensively reducing a car body weight, and to make no step between the floor face of the car body side and the floor face of the box type widened side when the widened portion is extracted.SOLUTION: A widened car comprises: a car body 3 having openings 4 in side faces; a box-shaped wide portion 10 made sideway slidable relative to the car body 3 for the side wall portions to close the openings when retracted; a drive mechanism 40 for sliding the box-shaped wide portion 10 relative to the car body 3; and a lifting floor portion 30. The lifting floor portion 30 is driven to a lower position by a lifting mechanism 70, when the box-shaped wide portion 10 is retracted, and to an elevated position at the same level as that of the box-shaped wide portion 10 when the wide portion 10 is extracted. |
