361,145. Drilling-machines. STAMP. FLI, O., 32, Bleicherstrasse, Zug, Switzerland. Dec. 5, 1930, No. 36803. Convention date, Dec. 11, 1929. [Class 83 (iii).] A tool turret for use with a drilling or like machine is in two parts, one fixed and the other rotatable, the latter part which carries the tool holders being axially displaceable from the former so as to uncouple a tool holder from the driving spindle and permit a fresh tool to be brought into the working position. The fixed part 2, shown fastened to the adjustable sleeve of a drilling- machine, is drilled at 14 to receive a spring-controlled bolt 15 the lower end of which is in the form of a bearing sleeve and carries the spindle 22 of the rotatable tool-carrying turret 23 ; upward movement of the turret awav from the work causes the end of the bolt 15 to strike an arm 4 on the machine and thereby displace the turret part downwards, in a direction parallel to the driving spindle, against the pressure of the spring 16, this movement separates the clutch elements 29, 30 and the centring piece 11 and at the same time a ratchet wheel 36 keyed to the spindle 22 moves over a stop bolt 37 to rotate the turret to the next working position. The stop bolt 37 may be released to enable the feed to be effected by hand. A modi. fication in the ratchet device is described and also a device consisting of a spring-pressed roller coacting with a star wheel to assist in bringing the tools into working position. |
