Floor tool

A floor tool (14, Fig 3a) for an apparatus (10) for cleaning a floor surface via suction includes a dirty air chamber 16 inlet 24 and a chamber outlet in communication with the suction source. Interior surface 18 of housing 16 is shown. A cleaning member 22 with cleaning elements having distal ends that end through the chamber inlet 16 and engage with a floor surface is included as is at least one floor engaging support element. Cleaning elements extend 0.7-1.3mm from the chamber outlet. Support element supports the tool and allows spacing of the chamber inlet from the floor surface.
