A material processing apparatus 10 is operable interchangeably between primary and secondary drive systems 32, 40. When the material processing apparatus is in particular, a jaw crusher, the secondary drive system 40 is operable in both directions so as to clear a blockage in the jaws. Also disclosed is a materials processing apparatus with a controller configured to determine that a secondary drive system is driving, so as to deactivate the secondary drive, and activate the primary drive. This may provide a start up sequence for the materials processing apparatus. |
