PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus capable of suppressing occurrence of wrinkles in a recording medium caused by preheating and achieving high quality printing.SOLUTION: A printer as a recording apparatus includes: an ink jet head that ejects ink onto a medium M; a transporting part that transports the medium M along a supporting surface 50; and a preheating part 41 that preheats the medium M at an upstream side of the ink jet head in a transporting direction of the medium M. The preheating part 41 includes heating means 60 that increases the amount of heat per unit time which is applied to the medium M, as the medium M is moved toward a downstream side in the transporting direction. |
