Method and device for testing the unbalance of at least one wheel of a motor vehicle

The method involves using a contactless measuring device e.g. laser scanner (16), for measuring wheels (11) of a motor vehicle with respect to unbalance, where the measuring device is aligned on a wheel hub of one of the respective wheels. Front and rear limitation or upper or lower limitation of a rim bore (17) of the wheel is detected for rotations of the wheel. A center point of the rim bore is determined from a distance of the rim bore. Unbalance of the wheel is determined from changes of the determined center point of the rim bore. An independent claim is also included for a device for testing unbalance of a wheel of a motor vehicle during an operation of the vehicle on a dynamic vehicle testing stand, comprising a contactless measuring device.
