[Problem] To provide an effective method, said method comprising injecting a pulverized coal having preferred properties into an oxygen blast furnace and thus efficiently generating a nitrogen-free blast furnace gas that is useful as a gas for synthetic chemical industry. [Solution] In performing an operation of the injection of a pulverized coal into an oxygen blast furnace, said operation comprising injecting the pulverized coal into a tuyere together with pure oxygen and then collecting a nitrogen-free blast furnace gas thus generated from a furnace top, the volatile matter content of the pulverized coal is adjusted to 25 mass% or greater. |
