[Class 136 (iii).] In toy vehicles of the types propelled by pedals &c. or by the action of the feet on the ground, a figure-head is carried by the handlebar stem below the handle-bar so as to be turned directly thereby. As shown, a horse's head e is secured to the handle-bar stem f, which is mounted on the front of an inclined body h. Legs c pivoted on either side of the body are oscillated by means of connecting- rods b from eccentrics a, cams, or cranks on the rear wheel axle or on a pedal-crank axle. Lower legs d are freely pivoted to the upper legs c, so as to be swung backwards and forwards by the movements of the upper legs. The saddle s is adjustable along the body h. |
