PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cast coat paper which is high in productivity and glossiness and is reduced in defects due to aggregate and its production method.SOLUTION: Cast coat paper is produced by a re-wetting method which comprises applying a cast coating liquid based on a pigment and an aqueous adhesive onto the surface of a substrate to form a glossiness layer, drying, re-wetting the surface of the dried glossiness layer and pressing the glossiness layer onto a cast drum having mirror glossiness and drying, and the glossiness layer contains one or more of soybean protein and casein as an adhesive and additionally an association type water retention agent. |
