PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a journal bearing device which achieves high durability while damping vibrations of a rotation shaft and inhibits misalignment of the rotation shaft center.SOLUTION: A journal bearing device 100 includes: a bearing pad 120 which supports a rotation shaft 11 from the outer peripheral side; a housing 110 which covers the rotation shaft 11 and the bearing pad 120 from the outer peripheral side; a support member 130 fixed to the housing 110, the support member 130 where a support surface 131, which forms a curved surface protruding toward the bearing pad 120 and has a part contacting with the bearing pad 120 as a contact part 132, is formed; and an O ring 150 located at a position which is disposed between the support surface 131 of the support member 130 and the bearing pad 120 and around the contact part 132 of the support member 130, the O ring 150 damping movement of the bearing pad 120 relative to the support member 130 and made of rubber. |
