摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide diamond abrasive grains having a longer lifetime than the lifetime of a conventional abrasive grains and a method for producing the same, slurry including the diamond abrasive grains, and fixed abrasive grain type wire.SOLUTION: Polycrystalline diamond abrasive grains consist of a polycrystalline diamond including no binder, a crystal grain size (maximum length) of the polycrystalline diamond is less than 1 &mu;m, and an average secondary particle diameter of the polycrystalline diamond abrasive grains is 1 to 200 &mu;m. A production method of the polycrystalline diamond abrasive grains includes a step to sinter a carbon material at a pressure of 12 GPa or more and a temperature of 1,500°C or more without using any binder to convert the carbon material directly into diamond and obtain the polycrystalline diamond having a crystal grain size of <1 &mu;m, and a step to work the polycrystalline diamond in such a way that an average secondary particle diameter thereof gets to be 1 to 200 &mu;m.
