PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar cell including a semiconductor substrate having a marking of dent formed in the surface of a semiconductor substrate capable of increasing the area of active region while increasing the marking reading rate by enhancing the contrast between marking area and other region.SOLUTION: The solar cell includes: a semiconductor substrate having a textured surface; a transparent electrode film formed over the textured surface; and a marking area having a marking of dent formed in the textured surface. In the solar cell, the transparent electrode film is not formed in the marking area and the periphery thereof, the height of the marking area and the substrate surface periphery thereof is lower than the height of the semiconductor substrate in the area where the transparent electrode film is formed. |
