A continuously variable transmission (100, fig 1) cooling fan includes a moveable sheave cover 103 attached to a drive clutch assembly (102) of the continuously variable transmission. A plurality of fan blades 130, 132, 134, 136 are moulded into the sheave cover 103 and arranged around the perimeter of the sheave cover 130. Each fan blade 130, 132, 134, 136 has a different length, curvature and angle of position than adjacent fan blades 130, 132, 134, 136. The cooling fan also includes a plurality of openings 138, 140 in the sheave cover 103 located radially inwardly from the fan blades between the fan blades 130, 132, 134, 136 and a centre axis 146 of the sheave cover 103. Openings 138, 140 provide an air passage into the drive clutch assembly (103). Fan blades 130, 132, 134, 136 are arranged in sets and one of the blades in each set has an end position radially closer to the centre axis 146 of the sheave cover 146. |
