Methods and apparatus for distributing and installing trusted applications

Apparatus for installing a trusted application (TA) in a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) comprises an application manager configured to obtain an application package from an application distribution service S301, the application package including an application configured to be installed in a Rich Operating System (OS) environment, and a trusted application installer service configured to check whether the obtained application package includes a TA S304. In response to a determination that the obtained application package includes a TA, the trusted application installer service causes the TA to be installed in the TEE S307. Corresponding methods are disclosed, together with apparatus and methods for generating and distributing the application package containing the TA.
