A golf ball, formed from a resin composition for golf balls, comprising: a polymer that contains a diene polymer moiety and a carboxylic acid-based moiety wherein carboxyl groups derived from the carboxylic acid-based moiety are neutralized, wherein the diene polymer moiety has a cis content of at least 20% by mass, and wherein the resin composition has a melt flow rate (190° C., 2.16 kg) of 1.0 g/10 min or higher, wherein the polymer is obtained by neutralizing (anhydrous) dicarboxyl groups contained in a diene polymer that contains an (anhydrous) dicarboxylic acid grafted thereon and has a 1,4-cis structure content of at least 41% by mass, wherein the polymer has a content of the (anhydrous) dicarboxylic acid of 2 to 30% by mass, a degree of neutralization of the (anhydrous) dicarboxyl groups of 50 to 300%, and a product of the content of the (anhydrous) dicarboxylic acid and the degree of neutralization of the (anhydrous) dicarboxyl groups of 200 to 3000.
