The present invention relates to a method and a system for acquiring digital data with power reduction in synchronous sequential circuits controlled by a synchronisation signal with period T. The method comprises: receiving an item of input data during a first synchronisation cycle; transmitting same to a memory module; requesting from the memory module, in a second synchronisation cycle, an input-data reading, by means of a microprocessor; providing the stored item of data to the microprocessor; receiving a second item of input data in a capturing module during the second synchronisation cycle; transmitting same to the memory module; and substituting in the memory module the first stored item of data by the second item of data.
