This non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode comprises a facing region facing the positive electrode with the separator interposed therebetween, and a non-facing region not facing the positive electrode without the separator interposed therebetween. In a range where the discharge termination voltage of the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery is 2.5 V to 3.0 V, the non-facing region in the vicinity of the boundary between the facing region and the non-facing region has a flat portion of electric potential in a range of -0.02 V to +0.02 V relative to the electric potential of the negative electrode in the facing region.
