Provided is an in-vehicle stereo camera device that is capable of achieving high-precision distance detection. The in-vehicle stereo camera device is provided with: a left camera and a right camera that are disposed in such a manner as to cause the fields of view of the respective cameras to overlap with each other; a first outer case and a second outer case which are outer coverings of the left and right cameras and which have portions that fall within the field of view of the left and right cameras; and a stereo processing unit that calculates the distance to an object outside a vehicle on the basis of images captured by the left and right cameras and the positions of the left and right cameras on the vehicle. On the basis of variations in the positions of the first and second outer cases within the fields of view of the left and right cameras, the stereo processing unit detects positional displacements of the left and right cameras, and makes changes to cut-out positions of the images captured by the left and right cameras.
