A profile management and status notification method, a terminal, a network element, and a communication system. The terminal acquires its own profile which is currently set and sends the acquired profile to a target network element at a network side. The target network element receives the profile sent by the terminal and then saves same, and can know the profile which is currently set in the terminal and a corresponding status. Then, after receiving a service request initiated to the terminal by a service initiating terminal, the target network element feeds back a current status of the terminal to the service initiating terminal according to the current profile of the terminal. |
