Provided is an eddy current instrument that is capable of facilitating reduction in the number of component parts. This eddy current instrument (20) has: a base (21); a lid (32) that is disposed so as to cover the base (21); a first rotary shaft (25) that is rotatably supported by the base (21); a rotatable magnet (27) that is mounted to the first rotary shaft (25); a second rotary shaft (41) that is rotatably mounted to the lid (32); a rotor (42) that is supported by the second rotary shaft (41) and rotated by an eddy current generated as a result of rotation of the magnet (27); and a damper mechanism (50) for inhibiting rapid rotation of the second rotary shaft (41) and the rotor (42). Resin is used as a material for the lid (32). The second rotary shaft (41) is supported by the lid (32) in such a manner as to be kept in contact with the inner circumferential surface of an insertion hole (32a) in the lid (32). A resistance part (53) disposed in the damper mechanism is integrally formed with the lid (32). |
