A low-torque-variation quiet operation when NVH is important and a high-torque operation or high-output operation when torque and output are important are both achieved by determining, on the basis of a request, whether to use a control method at which torque variation is low or a control method at which maximum torque is exhibited. A motor current determining means (12) is able to determine whether to use output-prioritizing control, in which torque output is prioritized, or torque-variation-suppressing control, in which low torque variation is prioritized. There is provided an output request assessment means (13) for determining the degree to which suppressing torque variation in an electric motor (14) is to be prioritized on the basis of a control request and/or vehicle traveling conditions. The motor current determining means (12) determines whether to use output-prioritizing control or the torque-variation-suppressing control according to the assessment results. |
