A texture feature extraction apparatus and method. The texture feature extraction method comprises the following steps: respectively segmenting an image to be processed in a plurality of pre-set segmentation modes (S10), wherein any sub-image obtained in each of the segmentation modes is different from all sub-images obtained in the other segmentation modes; respectively combining sub-images obtained through segmentation according to the same segmentation mode into a first combination image, and combining all the first combination images into a second combination image (S20); and performing a local binary patterns (LBP) operation on the second combination image, and taking an obtained LBP feature as a texture feature of the image to be processed (S30). Thus, a texture feature of an image can be extracted accurately. |
