This outdoor unit for an air conditioner is provided with an axial fan, a heat exchanger, and a blow-out grill. The blow-out grill has: a central part facing a boss; an outer peripheral part positioned closer to the outer peripheral side than the rotational trajectory of a wing when viewed in a direction parallel to the rotational axis of the axial fan; and an intermediate part positioned between the central part and the outer peripheral part. At least the central part is formed from a linear member having a circular cross-sectional shape. When a virtual plane that is perpendicular to the rotational axis and intersects a portion of the wing is taken as a reference surface, the distance between the intermediate part and the reference surface is taken as a first distance, the distance between the central part and the reference surface is taken as a second distance, and the distance between the outer peripheral part and the reference surface is taken as a third distance, the second distance is longer than the third distance and shorter than the first distance.
