An arrangement and a method are described for heave compensation of a working unit (3) which includes at least one driving unit (33) and is arranged in a vertically displaceable manner in a tower (2) by said at least one driving unit (33) being in engagement with a pitch rack (23) arranged vertically in the tower (2), the pitch rack (23) being hung off in a vertically displaceable manner in a heave compensator (24).
