The knee joint brace according to the present invention is provided with a first-side upper arm 10b disposed above and on one side of the knee joint, a first-side lower arm 20b disposed below and on said one side of the knee joint, a second-side upper arm 10a disposed above and on the other side of the knee joint, and a second-side lower arm 20a disposed below and on said other side of the knee joint. By connecting the lower end of the first-side upper arm 10b to the upper end of the first-side lower arm 20b using a link mechanism 1a, and disposing a virtual point of intersection X of four joints 74a, 76a, 81a and 82a, constituting the link mechanism 1a, on the knee joint, a force pulling the knee joint apart in the vertical direction can be caused to act during extension, and by connecting the lower end of the second-side upper arm 10a to the upper end of the second-side lower arm 20a using an axial mechanism 1b loads acting on the knee joint as a result of osteoarthritis of the knee and the like can be alleviated, relieving pain in the knee joint and encouraging walking. |
