The present invention relates to an apparatus, which reduces road noise by absorbing friction sounds produced as the wheels of a vehicle rub against the surface of a road when the vehicle passes by on the road, and an installation method therefor. The present invention provides a road noise reduction apparatus comprising pipe-shaped body parts which have therein a hollow passing through a part of an end and a part of the other end thereof and have an insertion groove formed toward the inside of the one end, a shim formed at the other end and protruding toward the outside, and a communication part provided on a side thereof and allowing the hollow to communicate with the outside, wherein the multiple body parts are connected to one another. The present invention also provides a road noise reduction apparatus installation method comprising: an embedded groove formation step for forming a plurality of embedded grooves at regular intervals in the traveling direction of a vehicle on a road surface; a placement step for placing road noise reduction apparatuses in the embedded grooves such that the height of the end of communication parts thereof is lower than that of the road surface and, at the same time, connecting multiple body parts to one another; an injection step for injecting a filler into the embedded grooves of the placement step so as to embed the road noise reduction apparatuses in the embedded grooves; and a hardening step for hardening the filler. |
