a print mechanism configured to print on print media; a communication controller configured to connect to a local area network, and to access a global area network through a network communication controller; wherein the communication controller is further configured to establish an asynchronous duplex communication channel that is a logical communication path with a print control device on the global area network, and to receive print data from the print control device as pushed data without sending a request to the print control device; and a print controller configured to control the print mechanism based on the received print data.
