A method for repairing DNA fragmentation due to UVB exposure in skin cells in need of such treatment, the method comprising the step of topically applying a composition that comprises 0.0001% to 1% of a SIRT6 activating peptide and 0.0001% -0.05% of 8-Oxoguanine glycosylase, by weight of the composition, wherein the SIRT 6 activating peptide is(SEQ ID No. 1) G-A-G-V-S-A-E-NH2Gly-Ala-Gly-Val-Ser-Ala-Glu-NH2;and wherein the SIRT6 activating peptide is incorporated into the composition in the form of yeast ferment extract, with the peptide being a component of the extract.
