摘要 The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method for efficiently separating a nucleic acid from a sample comprising the nucleic acid without requiring special equipment, and of providing a device therefor. This method uses a device that is equipped with a treatment reagent storage vessel 100 storing a treatment reagent 101 for releasing the nucleic acid, and a nucleic acid collecting member 200 provided with a nucleic acid adsorbing carrier 205. The device is further configured such that a lid body 104 is attached to the treatment reagent storage vessel 100. When the treatment reagent storage vessel 100 is connected to the nucleic acid collecting member 200, the seal by the lid body 104 is released to communicate a discharge opening 102 and a treatment reagent supply opening 204. This method includes: a step 1 for storing a sample in the nucleic acid collecting member 200; a step 2 for connecting and communicating the treatment reagent storage vessel 100 with the nucleic acid collecting member 200; a step 3 for mixing the sample and the treatment reagent to form a mixture 421 and release the nucleic acid; and a step 4 for discharging the mixture 421 while passing the mixture 421 through the carrier 205 to adsorb the nucleic acid.
